Mercer Island School District Elementary School Visits
The Parks CIP team engaged with students across four elementary schools - Lakeridge, West Mercer, Island Park, and Northwood. More than 1,200 students from Kindergarten through Fifth Grade shared their ideas for the new playground, including voting for play equipment and themes to complement Kenton's Dragon. To further engagement, students were also invited to participate in an optional design activity, where they created their own park layouts and highlighted their favorite features.
This input will play a key role in shaping preliminary design concepts that will be shared with the community this summer.
