Amending the SMP

The Planning Commission and the WA State Department of Ecology (DOE) will review the proposed code amendment at the meeting starting at or after 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May10, 2023.

The meeting will be held in person at City Hall Council Chambers and virtually using Zoom. The public will have the opportunity to comment during the public hearing by either attending in person, calling in, or logging onto the meeting as a Zoom attendee. Written comments will also be accepted until the public hearing is closed.

Following the public meeting, City Staff will review all comments and determine if revisions are necessary. The amendments will then go to the Department of Ecology for a Determination of Consistency with state law. If DOE determines that the amendments are consistent, the City Council will review and either request changes or adopt the proposed amendments. If City Council adopts the amendments, they will go back to the DOE for the final approval and adoption.
