April 4, 2024 - Impact to Shorewood Apartments

The Shorewood Apartment Complex is directly served by the SPU water line that has been shut down due to SPU water main leak. On April 4, City crews completed a tie-in from the City’s water distribution system to serve the Shorewood community during the SPU water main repair. Some Shorewood residents are also impacted by the closure of SE 36th and 88th Ave SE and will have to utilize alternate routes.

Two buildings in the Shorewood complex have a sprinkler system which is experiencing a reduced water flow during this event. The sprinkler system remains operational, but may see an impact to the effectiveness of the system. Out of an abundance of caution, Eastside Fire & Rescue has implemented a 24/7 fire watch monitor onsite and has adjusted its response plan to ensure a timely and safe response to any potential need in the Shorewood community.
