Utility Assistance

Clean and safe drinking water on Mercer Island is an essential service. We understand some small businesses and residential customers might be worried about paying their bills.

To avoid an undue burden during the coronavirus outbreak, the City will be implementing the following policies:

City water service will remain on throughout the duration of this emergency. The City will not disconnect customers for non-payment during this time.

The City will work with customers who have been financially impacted by the coronavirus epidemic. The City will not charge late fees to customers unable to pay their bills on-time.

Customers are encouraged to call the City’s customer service team at 206-275-7783 or email mifinance@mercergov.org to set up a payment plan.

The City’s Utility Bill Reduction Program is available to income-qualified households, providing access to discounted utility rates. More info available at https://www.mercerisland.gov/finance/page/covid-19-financial-relief
