Easement Request to City Council

At the March 3 meeting, City Council authorized acceptance of a new wider trail easement granted by Mercer Island School District to support the Shared Use Path Phase 1. This easement will allow a 10-foot-wide paved path to be constructed in front of Island Park Elementary, and then continue south to SE 60^th Street. The City and School District will mutually benefit from the improved mobility and safety between Island Park Elementary, Deanes Children’s Park, Island Crest Park, and the surrounding neighborhood. Construction of the Shared Use Path Phase 1 is planned for spring 2027.
