Shared Use Path Phase 1 Design Update

Design of the Shared Use Path Phase 1 has reached the 90% milestone. This project includes a 10-foot-wide paved path with 2-foot gravel shoulders, along the west side of Island Crest Way between Island Park Elementary and SE 60th Street. Staff collaborated with the School District on the design of pathway along the school’s frontage. The City has been awarded a Washington State Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) grant to fund over half of the design and construction costs. Design and permitting are anticipated to be completed in 2026 and construction is planned to begin in spring 2027.
