A playground renovation site plan shows a climbing structure with two slides, swing set, and free-standing play elements

First Hill Park is a neighborhood park located at SE 32nd Street and 72nd Avenue SE. The park playground included a treehouse play structure and hillside slide installed in 2007. In 2025, the City will remove aging play equipment and replace it with a new climbing structure, swings, and free-standing play features. Old play area surfacing will be removed and replaced with new engineered wood fiber (EWF) surfacing, and new gravel will be installed to provide an accessible pathway from the main park entrance to the renovated play area and existing picnic table.

The renovated playground design was developed with the community in 2024, and construction is anticipated to take 3-4 months. Follow along here on Let's Talk for regular construction updates and photos.
