April 16 Update

On April 16, the City resumed issuing those permits which were previously suspended until permit payments could be processed and do not require additional public notice. Permits that may be issued include tree permits, small remodel and renovation permits for single family homes, and construction permits for new single family homes when public notice has previously been provided.

The City tentatively anticipates resuming the issuance of public notices related to construction beginning May 11; this includes the issuance of Notices of Application, Notices of Public Hearing, and Notices of Decision. Public noticing, once resumed, will comply with adopted City ordinances and timelines including, for example, the 30-day public comment period and 30-day notice of public hearing requirement.

The City also tentatively anticipates the resumption of public meetings / hearings between June 22 and July 10, the City tentatively anticipates the resumption of public meetings / hearings related to construction.

NOTE: All permit approvals will be conditioned to require compliance with the Governor’s Stay at Home order.

Tentative Timeline for Reopening City Permitting Processes:

  • Between June 22, 2020 and July 10, 2020, the City tentatively anticipates the resumption of public meetings / hearings related to construction.
  • In September 2020, the City tentatively anticipates adoption of the updated construction codes, with an effective date of November 1, 2020.
